On 19 June, the Second Council Meeting of the Alliance for Cultural Heritage in Asia (ACHA) took place in Qingdao, China. The event gathered experts from across Asia and beyond to discuss and promote the preservation of cultural heritage.

On 17 May, we had the pleasure of welcoming the Korean delegation of the Culture, Sport and Tourism Committee of the Gyeonggido Assembly to ICCROM headquarters. The group heard from Eugene Jo, World Heritage Leadership Programme Manager, about ICCROM's area of work and expertise, as well as its activities.

On 9 May 2024, at our headquarters in Rome, ICCROM and ACCU Nara (the Cultural Heritage Protection Cooperation Office of the Asia-Pacific Cultural Centre for UNESCO) signed a Memorandum of Understanding to bolster cultural heritage protection efforts in the Asia-Pacific region.

On 9 May 2024, ICCROM formalized a Memorandum of Understanding with the World Urban Planning Education Network (WUPEN), marking a significant milestone in our joint commitment to advancing sustainable development and the protection of cultural heritage globally, especially within rapidly urbanizing areas.

On 16 April 2024, the Director-General of ICCROM met with representatives from the Beijing Forestry University School of Landscape Architecture, including Professor Xi Zheng, Dean, and Professor Xin Cao. The purpose of the meeting was to deepen collaborative efforts and activate the Memorandum of Understanding established between the two institutions in 2023.

We were very pleased to welcome a delegation from the Cultural Heritage Administration (CHA) of the Republic of Korea to ICCROM headquarters on 22 March 2024.

يستمر دليل ومجموعة أدوات تقييم الأثر في سياق التراث العالمي الذي تم إصداره في العام 2022 في الانتشار في جميع أنحاء العالم، ليصبح مورداً أساسياً لكل من يعمل بمجال التراث العالمي وإدارته. ومع استمرار انتشاره، تزداد الحاجة إلى توفر الدليل ومجموعة الأدوات بلغات مختلفة.

في الفترة بين 5 – 16 تشرين الثاني/ نوفمبر 2023، استضافت إيكروم، إلى جانب كل من الإدارة الوطنية للتراث الثقافي (NCHA) والأكاديمية الصينية للتراث الثقافي (CACH)، وبالتعاون مع المركز الإداري لمقابر تشانغبينغ مينغ، الدورة الدولية حول تقييم فعالية أنظمة إدارة التراث العالمي.

وفي الدورة الأخيرة التي عقدت من 28 آب/أغسطس وحتى 15 أيلول/سبتمبر 2023، اكتسب المشاركون معارف ثمينة ليس فقط عن طرق حفظ الورق الياباني بل وعن السياقات الثقافية الحاوية لهذه العمليات. وخلال الجولة الدراسية التي أقيمت في الأسبوع الثاني من الدورة، تعرف المشاركون على كيفية الحفاظ على المنهجيات التقليدية ونقلها، وذلك من خلال المشاركة في أنشطة صناعة ورق وزيارة ستوديو للترميم.
