Our Fellowship Programme is a valuable part of life at ICCROM. Since its inception, it has brought fresh perspectives, facilitated the exchange of knowledge, and stimulated new avenues of research to enrich the field of heritage conservation.

On 11 and 12 April, ICCROM held its annual meeting of the Council Bureau. During these two fruitful and productive days, the Bureau, Director-General and Management Team of ICCROM discussed the activities that have taken place in the first quarter of 2022 at a programmatic, administrative and planning level.

UNESCO, ICCROM and the Maidan Museum in Kyiv (Ukraine) have translated the manual Endangered Heritage: Emergency Evacuation of Heritage Collections (Спадщина у небезпеці – Екстрена евакуація культурних цінностей), into Ukrainian. UNESCO will support the distribution of some 2,000 printed copies across Ukraine, to areas with no or limited internet access.

ICCROM expresses its growing concern about the ongoing impact of the conflict in Ukraine for both its people and its cultural heritage, and has been active according to its mandate in supporting heritage professionals to protect the heritage in this difficult period.

Research-practice teams from eight World Heritage properties across Africa, Asia, Europe and Latin America joined the pilot phase of this unique online incubator last year. Now they are preparing their practice-led research agendas, with plans to publish their insights and achievements.
