Why this course? 

The structural integrity of built heritage is increasingly threatened by environmental and human factors, especially after the recent earthquakes and conflicts in the region. This course provides a comprehensive framework for structural conservation of built heritage. 

What will you learn? 

  • Understanding, surveying, and assessing structural conditions: gain insights into evaluating the condition of heritage structures through detailed surveys and assessments. 
  • Stages of structural consolidation: Including immediate response techniques to prevent further deterioration of damaged structures and followed by permanent structural conservation methods. 
  • Conservation of Building Materials: Introduction to preservation techniques essential for maintaining the historical and cultural integrity of affected structures. 

Course Structure

  • 'Online Sessions: Every Saturday and Sunday starting from 19 October 2024 - 3 November 2024 (19, 20, 26, 27 October and 2, 3 November)
  • Duration: 6 days, with each session lasting 2 hours, from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM CET 
  • Language: The course will be conducted in Arabic. 

Who Should Apply?  

This course is ideal for professionals in heritage conservation, including structural and civil engineers and topographers involved in the conservation of historic structures. It is also addressed to architects and archeologists who manage heritage sites and site managers responsible for their maintenance and preservation.
