On 27 June 2023, ICCROM Director-General Webber Ndoro had the honour of receiving H.E. Mr. Felipe Silva de Pina Za, Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Angola and H.E. Ms. Maria de Fátima Domingas M. Jardim, Ambassador of Angola to Italy, accompanied by a delegation. Also present from ICCROM were José Luiz Pederzoli, Strategic Planning Unit Manager, Espèra Donouvossi, Programme Manager of Youth.Heritage.Africa, and Anna Zeichner, Liaison Officer.
The Director-General provided a brief introduction to ICCROM, emphasizing the Youth.Heritage.Africa programme and outlining prospective activities aimed at lusophone countries in Africa. Espèra Donouvossi delivered a comprehensive presentation on the YHA programme, highlighting its objectives and initiatives. The visit concluded with a tour of ICCROM's Library and Archives where, H.E. the Minister and H.E. the Ambassador had an opportunity to view significant documents confirming the strong relationship between the Republic of Angola and ICCROM, over the course of more than 30 years of membership.
We thank the Minister and the Ambassador for the visit, which signifies a valuable step toward fostering cooperation and cultural exchange between Angola and ICCROM.
