French heritage professionals and cultural associations have denounced the destruction and dispersal of cultural heritage in Africa and the Middle East.
In a statement recently signed by over 30 national associations, a call to support and provide solidarity to colleagues working in affected countries has been made, requesting that all legal, financial and intellectual means are taken to stop the destruction of the world’s heritage and memory.
ICCROM fully supports this call made by French colleagues and encourages professionals around the world to continue fighting against the destruction and trafficking of cultural heritage taking place.
Read the full call by the Comité français d’histoire de l’art (CFHA) and the list of signatories as of 22 September 2015.
