The Welsh School of Architecture, Cardiff University is pleased to announce scholarship opportunities for students applying for their MSc Sustainable Building Conservation for 2024/25.
UK applicants wishing to study either full-time or part-time may apply for Cardiff University’s Master’s Excellence Scholarship. Deadlines 8th April 2024 or 8th July 2024.
Applicants from outside the UK may be eligible for the Vice-Chancellor's International Scholarship
Accredited by the Institute of Historic Building Conservation (IHBC), this distinctive masters’ qualification addresses current challenges recognised worldwide. We place emphasis on the role of sustainability within the historic context at both technical and strategic levels. By using our established expertise as a research locus for sustainable design, the course addresses these concerns, which have been identified internationally by the International Council on Monuments and Sites UK (ICOMOS), as the critical future direction of conservation education.
The course places an emphasis on the role of sustainability within the historic context at both technical and strategic levels. Historic building materials and their conservation are also a significant element of the course, which benefits from multiple field trips with in the UK and a 5-day study visit abroad, typically to Rome.
The course is offered on both a full time and a part time basis and attracts students from a broad range of backgrounds who benefit from the opportunity to exchange and build their expertise.
