CultureSummit Abu Dhabi 2018, held from 8 – 12 April, is a high-level international summit bringing together leaders from the worlds of government, arts, media and technology to collaborate and address in concrete ways the role culture can play in addressing the great challenges of our time, from poverty and extremism to climate change and conflict.
This year’s programme, entitled Unexpected Collaborations, focused on partnerships that are unique, different, and which blend tradition and innovation. Workshops, presentations, and performances throughout the event engaged participants in expanding on their ideas about the role of culture in improving our world.
Dr Webber Ndoro, ICCROM’s Director-General, participated in a panel discussion on Monday 9 April entitled “The Creativity Premium: Policies that Promote Creativity and Knowledge.” The event was also attended by Dr Zaki Aslan, Director of the ICCROM-ATHAR Regional Conservation Centre.
This is the second annual edition of CultureSummit Abu Dhabi, a meeting that facilitates dialogue between leaders in the arts, media, public policy, and technology to identify ways that culture can raise awareness, build bridges and promote positive change.
