Since the creation of our Internship and Fellows Programme in 2002, more than 200 people have benefited from the experience of undertaking a period of personal development with ICCROM. During the third quarter of 2023, in addition to those fellows and volunteers who continued their work, we welcomed five new interns.

ICCROM is deeply saddened by the loss of lives and extensive damage, including to natural and cultural heritage, resulting from the catastrophic wildfires currently ongoing in many parts of the world. Our Director-General and staff wish to extend their condolences to the people and governments of our Member States in all continents currently experiencing the devastating effects of wildfires.
As an Advisory Body to the World Heritage Convention, ICCROM joins UNESCO and its sister Advisory Body ICOMOS in condemning the recent attacks on the World Heritage properties and buffer zones of “The Historic Centre of Odesa” including the Transfiguration Cathedral and “L'viv – the Ensemble of the Historic Centre.”
From 6 to 10 July 2023, ICCROM – in partnership with UNESCO Paris, UNESCO Cairo and UNESCO Khartoum, and in close collaboration with ICOMOS International and the Egyptian Heritage Rescue Foundation (EHRF) – co-organized a workshop in Cairo, Egypt, to support Sudan’s National Corporation for Antiquities and Museums (NCAM) in safeguarding Sudan’s heritage amid the ongoing crisis.
