About the art

Using Artificial Intelligence (AI) and digital art tools, Future Bedouin tells a story of past and future, conservation and innovation. This digital rendering is of a monumental art structure in AlUla, Saudi Arabia - part of the Hegra World Heritage site. Composed of scaffolding megastructures with transparent, reflective surfaces and adorned in striking pink and blue pastel mesh, the work symbolizes transformation and transcendence. This unique creation sees AlUla as bridging the gap between past and future.

Future Bedouin made this piece using an AI-based art generator to create an image based on her description. After generating the base image, she used Adobe Photoshop to adjust colours, add transparency effects and refine the details to match her artistic vision.

The artist's use of scaffolding megastructures signifies the dynamic evolution of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, reflecting its commitment to development. The transparent and reflective qualities of the installation invite viewers to peer inside and contemplate the nation's aspirations and ambitions.

The delicate pink and blue pastel colour palette mirrors the gentle, ever-changing hues of AlUla's desert landscape, capturing the essence of its ethereal beauty at different times of the day. These colours evoke a sense of serenity and renewal, highlighting the cultural and spiritual significance of the region.

The mesh design intricately weaves together the threads of time and tradition, portraying the harmonious coexistence of heritage and innovation. This piece celebrates the delicate balance between preserving cultural roots and embracing technology and modernity, effectively capturing the nation's dual identity.

This artwork symbolizes the transformation of AlUla into a cultural and tourist destination, inviting exploration not just of its architectural wonder but also of the rich history and culture it represents. It reflects the past and future in equal measure, inviting us all to partake in the cultural renaissance of this extraordinary region.
