Since 2013, ICCROM has identified Disaster and Risk Management as one of the key programmatic areas, planning a 10 year multi-partner initiative to build capacities and strengthen initiatives on the ground. This will be accomplished through a strategic effort involving actors from the fields of disaster risk management and cultural heritage. The aim is to reinforce policies, institutions and local communities in risk-prone regions (for details see programme document: ICCROM Strategy Disaster Risk Management ).
Activities of the programme include workshops, training materials and tools that promote better integration of cultural heritage into wider disaster risk policies and programmes at regional, national and local levels.
