Fifth RE-ORG course held in Udaipur, IndiaThe 5th RE-ORG course (Reorganization of Collections in Museum Storage) was held from 1 to 11 November 2016 in the City Palace Museum, located in the superb palace of the Maharajah of Udaipur. The course was held by the Indira Gandhi National Center for Arts (IGNCA) in collaboration with ICCROM.

The participants came from seven state museums in Rajasthan, along with two interns from Cambodia.

After the reorganization of three storage areas, a documentation system was set in place for the first time. To do this, a didactic model representing a miniature storage unit was designed.

The survey carried out by ICCROM and UNESCO in 2011 on 1490 museums in 136 countries indicated that 25% of the museums had no documentation system in place, and 60% had a significant delay in the objects to be recorded, thereby demonstrating the need to provide assistance in implementing museum documentation systems. Gaël de Guichen joined the Indian teaching team, composed of Achal Pandya, Jitender Chauhon and Sahil Ansari of the IGNCA.
