On 14 - 15 March, ICCROM hosted the 2018 annual donor’s meeting for the World Heritage Leadership Programme with the Norwegian Government. The World Heritage Leadership Programme is a capacity building programme in support of the World Heritage Convention, based on the long standing partnership of IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources) and ICCROM, also in collaboration with ICOMOS and WHC and other organizations. This programme has been made possible with the generous support of the Norwegian Ministry of Climate and Environment.
The World Heritage Leadership Programme focuses on building capacity for effective management of heritage places by promoting a people centred approach to the conservation of nature and culture. It will focus on the various thematic areas of linking nature and culture, building resilience for heritage and developing impact assessment methodologies. The meeting reviewed the Programme implementation for the first two years, and also discussed the work programme and budget of the upcoming two years. Representatives attending the meeting were:
