Following a 2011 resolution adopted by ICCROM Member States on the reorganization of museum storage, in 2013 ICCROM launched a large-scale call for partners to implement RE-ORG projects worldwide. More than 40 Member States showed interested in the initiative.
One of ICCROM partner is the Canadian Conservation Institute (CCI) which organized the first edition of RE-ORG Canada in the province of Ontario in collaboration with the Ontario Museums Association (OMA) in 2014-2015. The second edition of RE-ORG Canada is now announced! It will be held in the Atlantic region for museums located in that region.
Throughout this 12-month course, up to six museums (two participants per museum) will work on preparing a condition report to identify the key issues affecting the access and conservation of their collection. They will then prepare a reorganization project and implement it. If your museum is selected, you will receive ongoing technical guidance from CCI as well as from your fellow participants through a combination of face-to-face and online interactions.
