PREVENT ICCROM’s First Aid and Resilience for Cultural Heritage in Times of Crisis Programme joins efforts with the Ministry of Culture and Media, the Republic of Croatia and the City of Trogir in organizing PREVENT - Mitigating Fire Risk for Heritage, an international hybrid symposium followed by a national capacity development workshop. This initiative will showcase nine case studies from eight countries on reducing fire risk for different types of heritage and enhancing emergency preparedness, while highlighting the effectiveness of ICCROM’s PREVENT training, first organized in November 2021.

The event will take place on 17 and 18 October 2022 in Trogir, Croatia, as well as online in an interactive format via Zoom.

  • Learn about fire risk mitigation through success stories from 8 countries. This symposium foresees examples from museums in Brazil and Canada, Palace in Nigeria to the Church on Nativity in Palestine, as well as the Newbridge House and Banff Park in Ireland, to the city of Trogir in Croatia.
