This conference, organized by the ICOMOS International Scientific Committee on the Theory of Conservation (ICOMOS Theophilos) and the Fondazione Romualdo Del Bianco, in collaboration with Palazzo Coppini, aims to take a comprehensive overview of the current status of doctrinal documents in heritage protection, creating a basis for identifying the main problems, needs and solutions.
The conference will address three topics:
- The Venice Charter โ the foundation of heritage protection or the burden of the past?
- Contemporary conservation theory in the light of doctrinal documents โ critical analysis
- The future of theory of conservation and doctrinal texts โ needs and proposals
