The RE-ORG project continues to be very active and dynamic in Portugal after holding RE-ORG Lisboa in 2018.
This year's workshop was held in Santarém on 20-21 and 27-28 March, where 35 museum professionals belonging to the group of 11 "Museums of Lezíria do Tejo" were trained to implement the RE-ORG Method in their storage spaces.
The training lasted a total of 28 hours (seven hours per day), during which the participants practiced each phase of the repository reorganization process - from preparation to condition assessment, planning and implementation under the guidance of Aida Nunes from the Lisbon Museum. Participants also had the opportunity to see the application of the RE-ORG projects in Chengdu (China) in 2015, Lisbon in 2018, Vadodara (India) in 2019, Eu (France) in 2019, and Poznan (Poland) in 2022.
The course provided the group of museum professionals with the skills to prepare and implement tailor-made plans for reorganizing collection storage and improving preventive conservation in their storage collections.
