In line with its commitment to promoting open access to knowledge and information, ICCROM is happy to share the Accepted Manuscript (AM) of an article recently published in Studies in Conservation on ‘Enhancing Research Impact in Heritage Conservation’, by Theocharis Katrakazis, Alison Heritage, Cath Dillon, Petra Juvan and Stavroula Golfomitsou.
This paper examines how research impact is defined, measured, and generated—with a view to understanding how it can be enhanced within heritage conservation. It derives from original research undertaken by ICCROM, which focussed on the engagement of end-users within heritage science research and highlights the importance of their involvement to support research relevance and impact. The study focussed at three different levels: the publication outputs of the broader heritage science sector; the planning and evaluation practices of institutions; and the experiences of individuals within research collaborations.
