From 12 to 13 March the Director-General was in Paris for institutional meetings with Member States, partners and UNESCO representatives.
ICCROM Director-General meets Institut National du Patrimoine Director
On 12 March, ICCROM Director-General Aruna Francesca Maria Gujral had the pleasure of meeting with Mr Charles Personnaz, Director of the Institut National du Patrimoine (INP) in France.
ICCROM eagerly anticipates continuing and enhancing fruitful collaborations with the INP, including further engagement through capacity building initiatives for youth in Africa and our internship programme.
ICCROM Director-General meets Lazare Eloundou Assomo, Director of World Heritage at UNESCO
ICCROM Director-General Aruna Francesca Maria Gujral was pleased to engage in discussions with Lazare Eloundou Assomo, Director of World Heritage at UNESCO. The focus of the meeting was ICCROM's role as an Advisory Body to the World Heritage Committee as well as to reinforce our strategic partnership through the identification and implementation of transformative capacity building initiatives under revamped priority areas of convergence.
We thank Mr Eloundou Assomo for meeting us. ICCROM looks forward to many more years of fruitful collaboration with UNESCO.
ICCROM Director-General meets Ernesto Ottone Ramirez, UNESCO Assistant DG of Culture
ICCROM Director-General Aruna Francesca Maria Gujral had the pleasure of meeting with Ernesto Ottone Ramirez, Assistant Director-General for Culture of UNESCO, in Paris on 13 March.
DG Gujral and ADG Ottone discussed strengthened collaborative efforts to place capacity building at the center of synergetic and integrated actions both at policy and at community levels to amplify the impact of our joint work towards cross-sectorial transformational changes and long-lasting impact. ICCROM looks forward to many more years of fruitful collaboration with UNESCO within our revamped people-centered and outcome-based engagement.
ICCROM Director-General meets Mr Bruno Favel, Ministry of Culture of France
ICCROM Director-General Aruna Francesca Maria had the privilege of meeting with Mr Bruno Favel, Head of the World Heritage mission within the Directorate-General of Heritage and Architecture at the Ministry of Culture of France. France has been a valued Member State of ICCROM for 60 years.
This fruitful meeting provided an opportunity to discuss potential avenues for enhanced collaboration between ICCROM and France in the preservation and promotion of cultural heritage, including boosted joint efforts to strengthen capacity in Africa, tackle climate change effects on cultural and natural heritage and exciting potential of a new secondment agreement.
We thank Mr Favel for meeting with us and look forward to celebrating France’s 60-year Anniversary as an ICCROM Member State this September.
