ICCROM is pleased to announce the launching of a new home page and Country Profiles web area.
As more of our activities and service delivery moves online, and following the recent launch of the website in Spanish, ICCROM is now pleased to unveil a newly-designed home page together with a Country Profiles web area.
It is our hope that this new point of entry into our work, our content and activities, will continue to broaden access to information among our various stakeholders, and strengthen the relationship between ICCROM and Member States.
The new Country Profile feature consists of an interactive map linked to pages, which will host information on a Member State’s cultural heritage, the legal frameworks that protect it, and cultural institutions together with a selection of museums and heritage sites. This will be supplemented with data related to ICCROM’s links with the respective countries, for example, activities and missions, as well as statistics regarding course participants, resource people, Council Members, staff, interns and fellows of that nationality.
This is an ongoing collaborative effort between the Governments and ICCROM’s staff, and we are thankful to all those involved in launching the project. Currently, 44 Member States have contributed, and we will continue in this work with others.
As cultural heritage takes on an increasingly important place in this moment of profound reflection and change, it is our work – in collaboration with our Member States – to promote the conservation of heritage as a tool for understanding, as a contributor to the well-being of societies, and a means of sustainable development. It is our hope that the content and services accessible through our web portal, together with the Country Profiles project will continue to provide our stakeholders with useful knowledge, while showcasing the diverse cultural heritage around the world.
