On 11 July, we had the pleasure of hosting a delegation from Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST), led by Dr. Yao Zhang, Vice President of HUST. The delegation included representatives from Department of International Alumni Network, Office of Student Experience, School of Foreign Languages, Office of Student Career Development, Office of International Affairs, School of Architecture and Urban Planning and School of Automation.
Welcomed by ICCROM’s Director-General, the group received an overview of ICCROM’s expertise and ongoing activities in heritage conservation. The presentation highlighted ICCROM’s comprehensive programmes, including its training initiatives, research projects, and international collaborations that contribute to protecting our shared heritage.
China has been an ICCROM Member State since 2000, and over the years, the ICCROM has developed a robust partnership with Chinese institutions, emphasizing the importance of academic exchange and knowledge sharing.
In her remarks, the Director-General expressed enthusiasm in exploring future initiatives with HUST, stating, “I look forward to deepening our partnership and exploring areas of common interest where we can leverage on our individual strengths and collaborate more closely and through innovative solutions towards greater impact of our action in the heritage conservation”
