The Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge, UK is seeking a preventive conservator to join the conservation team for a 1 year fixed-term contract. The role involves working closely with conservators, front-of-house and facilities colleagues to safeguard the collections while supporting access to them for our audiences.  The museum includes Grade 1 listed historic interiors and hosts a busy exhibition, loan and events programme.  The role will be responsible for environmental monitoring and control and pest management in the museum and will also carry out risk assessments and contribute to planning events so they comply with Government Indemnity Scheme standards.  

We are seeking someone with expertise in conservation who has experience of working in a historic house setting, managing mixed collections. Someone who has experience of COSHH regulations and Health and Safety requirements who is able to work fairly independently and manage own work-flow to deadlines.
