General description of the project

ICCROM's information technology (IT) and logistics functions are essential to the organization's effective operation and support its internal technical infrastructure and day-to-day logistical needs. The IT team ensures that staff have access to reliable technology, providing first-level support and maintaining systems that enable efficient communication and information management. The logistics team contributes to the smooth execution of office operations and internal events, including the setup and maintenance of meeting spaces and support for hybrid meetings.

Over time, the demands on IT and logistical support have grown significantly due to an increase in digital systems, hybrid event requirements, and evolving office needs. ICCROM's headquarters in Rome relies on coordinated technical and logistical support to maintain continuity and quality of service. The consultant will play a key role in supporting these operations, ensuring that technology and space are functional, well-managed, and responsive to the organization’s evolving needs.

Key Deliverables and Tasks

Under the supervision of the IT Supervisor, the consultant will:

  • Provide technical support for internal events, including setting up and testing AV equipment, ensuring smooth operations, and maintaining organized meeting/event spaces.

  • Support general office logistics, including equipment relocation, room maintenance, headquarters management assistance, and driving when necessary.

  • Deliver first-level IT helpdesk support, troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues, and supporting staff with office technologies.

  • Special Projects: Operational support during the preparation and execution of key initiatives, including the General Assembly and the relocation to the new premises.

Required qualifications:

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Training or certifications in IT support or logistics are a plus.

Work experience

  • At least 2 years of relevant professional experience in IT support and/or logistics, preferably in an international or multicultural environment.

Skills and knowledge

  • Experience with Audiovisual and IT equipment setup and support.

  • Basic knowledge of IT troubleshooting and helpdesk operations.

  • Familiarity with logistics operations in an office setting.

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to assist with equipment relocation.

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work proactively and flexibly in a fast-paced environment.

  • Capable of lifting and moving light to medium-weight equipment.

Languages

  • Fluency in English (oral and written) is required. Knowledge of French or other languages is considered an asset.
