ICCROM is hosting a meeting of the InterPARES Trust (ITrust) Transnational Team. The meeting gathers experts in archival science, records management, diplomatics, information technology and digital forensics working in international organizations, as well as members of ITrust Team Europe, and archivists from other international organizations based in Rome and Florence.
The team meets twice a year to discuss the progress of projects carried out by its members in the framework of ITrust. Current research projects are related to the use of cloud services for records management in international organizations, the management of sensitive or security classified information in the cloud computing environment.
ICCROM has been part of ITrust since 2012 and was involved in its previous phase, InterPARES 3, from 2008.
ITrust is an international research project on issues concerning digital records and data entrusted to the Internet, and more specifically to the cloud. Issues include: Can records and data stored in the cloud be trusted? How and where are they stored? Who has control and jurisdiction? Who has access? How secure are they? Will your privacy be protected?
The goal of ITrust is to generate theoretical and methodological frameworks to develop national and international policies, standards and legislation, in order to ensure a persistent digital memory.
